Captain Cowboy was created to bring together Paul Vernon's different mediums of photography and film, uniting new projects and books within one place of artistic output.
Work I'm currently creating for CapCow is instant photography, book design / publishing and integrating my films which have screened at Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Artists Forum in New York and the ICA for London Short Film Festival. A few years ago I began assessing my archive of unpublished photography and started mixing those with current projects / thinking I'd been developing. From that process came the Candlelight Flavoured Bubblegum book series, of which the first The Light That's Lost was published in 2020. You can find the Instagram here and join the developing community of interest in my new work, communicate with me and stay updated.
Captain Cowboy is got its name from a character created in front of my camera by my younger sister in the award-winning and BAFTA screened short documentary A Film By Abigail, which was also very nearly nominated for a United Nations Women Award in Hong Kong (!?) but that's a whole other story...
